I’m honored to receive the 2023 Israel Fishman Award for Nonfiction, also known as the Stonewall Book Award from the American Library Association. The Stonewall Book Awards are the oldest LGBTQ book awards in the country, and it means everything to me to see The Women’s House of Detention recognized in such a meaningful way.
